Your health is important to us. As a full time, benefit eligible team member of Goodwill, you are eligible to enroll in our Medical insurance. Depending on your healthcare needs, and the needs of your family members, it's important to know that you have choices.

THINGS TO KNOW ...........

  • Should you choose to enroll in the Kaiser major medical plan, this plan meets the minimum value and affordability standards of the ACA (Affordable Care Act).
  • Should you waive coverage when you are first eligible for benefits, and you experience a Qualifying Event (also known as a Life Event), and want to enroll in the plan, you must notify the Goodwill Benefits Team no later than 30 days from the date of the Qualifying Event in order to enroll or make a change. The only exception to this is when you are losing Medi-Cal eligiblity, which is 60 days. Documentation will be required.
  • You can be covered by another group health plan and still receive benefits under Goodwill s medical plan. This is known as Coordination of Benefits (COB).
  • In-Network Providers are doctors, facilities and pharmacies that have contracted with the insurance carrier to accept reduced fees for services. YOU MUST USE THE IN-NETWORK PROVIDERS FOR KAISER COVERAGE!
  • You will need to select your in-network Primary Care Provider when enrolling on one of these HMO options. This is the doctor you will see for most of your healthcare needs. Your PCP will coordinate your care through in-network doctors and hospitals and issue a referral when you need to see a specialist, such as a dermatologist or cardiologist.
